What are the pre-requisites to become a technical translator?
Saber qual área técnica está prestes a ser traduzida e ter um background knowledge na área em questão e também saber inglês, com o conhecimento da tipologia.
To know which technical area is going to be translated, to have some background knowledge in that area, to know the language (English), the text typology.

1. Hi. I didn’t understand what you said about the “technical area to be translated.” Isn’t it the same translation to all areas? Isn’t it all technical translation? I thought that once you translated one area you would be equipped to translate all of them. Can you elaborate on that?
2. Could you explain what you mean by “background knowledge”? How can I get this background knowledge? Are there sites, books? Is it referred to translation itself?
1. Olá. Não entendi o que disse sobre "qual área técnica está prestes a ser traduzida". Não é a mesma tradução para todas as áreas? Não é tudo tradução técnica? Pensei que uma vez que traduzisse uma área, estaria apto a traduzir todas. Poderia desenvolver o assunto?
2. Poderia explicar o que quis dizer com "background knowledge"? Como posso adquirir esse background knowledge? Existem sites, livros? Isso se refere à tradução em si?
